The 'M' Technique® is a method of gentle, on-body, structured touch that promotes comfort and supports healing. It is suitable for those who seek relaxation through therapeutic human touch that is not massage therapy. 

The 'M' Technique® is beneficial for anyone seeking deep relaxation. It works on skin receptors that send signals to the brain, encouraging almost immediate feelings of comfort and relaxation. Each movement and sequence is done a set number of times, in a set pattern, at a set pressure and speed that never change. The 'M' Technique® is well tolerated by the very fragile or critically ill and may be used as part of hospice care or for those who are feeling stressed or down.  

The 'M' Technique® can be implemented in as little as 5 minutes for a person's hands or 15 minutes for both feet. A Certified 'M' Technique® Practitioner can perform a full-body session in about an hour. The technique is effective on skin or through thin clothing.

The 'M' Technique® is not massage therapy. It was developed by former ICU nurse Jane Buckle, Ph. D., M.A., R.N., Cert. Ed., as a means of holistic communication to help critically ill patients feel the power of human touch. The 'M' Technique® is a component of holistic therapy appropriate for individuals of all ages. Many hospitals, hospices, and healthcare organizations integrate the 'M' Technique® into a patient's plan of care.
